Psychotherapy

Dr. Ybarra offers a range of psychotherapy and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services to aid you, your child, and your family

Psychotherapy Services Offered:

Psychotherapy or counseling services are tailored to each client, with the client helping to decide the topics of focus and the rate of work. The number of psychotherapy sessions are based on the client's needs.  Dr. Ybarra uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for his work with clients. This approach has been proven effective via decades of clinical research. CBT helps clients to discover how problematic thinking negatively influences their emotions and behavior.

Robert Mann, LMHC has been counseling both adolescents and adults for more than a decade. His warm counseling approach is rooted within the cognitive-behavioral perspective, which applies the tenets of change to affect one’s thought patterns, the beliefs one may hold, one’s attitudes, and ultimately one’s behavior. He will strive to help you to better face difficulties (e.g., anxiety, depression, role transition, stress) and more effectively strive towards goals. He has convenient weekday, weekend and evening times for sessions. Click here to learn more.

Personal strengths include personality traits, life experiences, race/culture, relationships, religious practice and spiritual beliefs.

Child or Adolescent Psychotherapy:
In his Psychotherapy work with children and teens, Dr. Ybarra helps the young client and their family to help foster healthy development despite present crises or challenges. Parents of clients are required to be open to changing their own behavior to aid their child's or adolescent's development. Stress management, relaxation training, planning skills and communication skills are common foundational skills taught along with specific addressment of the target problem. Dr. Ybarra is known for his ability to help children and teens negotiate through the difficulties of their parents' divorce or separation, as well as fostering co-operative parenting, using a cognitive-behavioral therapy structure.

Adult Psychotherapy:
Common issues presented by adult clients and addressed by psychotherapy include depression, mood stability, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma exposure, divorce or separation, career-work related stress, anger management, male identity development and enhanced personal growth.  His Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach requires active effort on the part of clients. Dr. Ybarra has assisted many adults via their EAP employee benefits in a non-judgmental cooperative manner.
